ANTS

The first step in eliminating an ant infestation in your home is to identify the species of ant. Not all ants are created equal; therefore understanding their biology and the specific species differences is critical in order to develop the proper control strategy that must be used to get rid of ants from your home.

SPIDERS

Spiders are not easily controlled, whether inside or outside the house. They are often abundant around the outside of the house, especially around outdoor lights. Insects are attracted to outdoor lights at night and spiders are there to hunt for insects. Spiders are predators of insects. This is their food, and this is where they will be most abundant and active. A program to reduce the spiders around the outside of the house should begin by reducing the presence of insects around the outside of the house.

SUMMER – Bugs to Watch Out For

El Nino not only affects weather patterns it affects the insects that come around in Summer.

You can expect heavier-than-normal pest infestations. Spiders, scorpions, beetles, termites — all flourish when normally dry ground is flush with water.

Wet conditions create a field day for ants, including the highly invasive Argentine ant, whose massive colonies can be found along the West Coast and other parts of the U.S. The Argentine ant has few natural enemies here, so they can quickly knock out the native ants. When Argentine ants get inside a house, they’re a force to be reckoned with.
